Isn't the Nvidia shield tv more powerful than ps2, Xbox, Atari jaguar? How come we can't play those games without lagging?

Any guide to what to use in (Render Type) to enhance the graphics on nes, snes, genesis and so on? To match the original graphics. I'm using the default render right now. Sorry if this question have been a answered before.
