Which emulator does PS1 use on RetroX

Hi. From what I understand RetroX uses Rectroarch for its ps1 emulation. I wanted to know which PS1 core from Retroarch is used though?

Its' pcsx_rearmed
Each time RetroX will download an emulator there is a message with a button to get more info about what it will be downloaded.

On the shield my PS1 games get stuck on the first screen to load after play.
Do I need some other files or bios and where do I put them?

In the Shield some people get a black screen. Rebooting the device fixes it.
Make sure that you are closing the emulator using the Quit option in the in game menu and not another method like the Home button.

Hi I’ve tried the following

1. Turned off VPN
2. Full restart
3. RetroX - installed the latest code with cheats.

4 Tried Castlevania. - got quite far, named a save and got to the floating loading screen but it didn’t move on.
5 Tried again with Diablo - black screen after the L2 & select screen
6. Tried with Vagrant story - got the initial splash screen but it again froze there.

Any other suggestions on what i can try?

I did follow your advice on using the quit and back button. Only once did I have to use the home button as the quit pop up while visible wasn’t actively selectable.

Do those saves appear once you run the game again?

Hi.
Just checked.

The save file did not hold.
I created a save state of the loading screen and I can still see that but not the game save slot.

Also cleared the caches but no change.
Wondering if an uninstall and reinstall would be advisable

It seems that the storage is failing, thus the save cannot be created.
Do you have any external or network storage there?

I’m using a usb flash, let me play about maybe I’ve put too much on and not left enough free
