Sorry if this is somewhere else but I can't find it. Just wondered if you can do save states for name or any other emulator that doesn't have the option in the options screen and if so how do you do it. Thanks

If there is no option to save the state it's because that particular emulator doesn't have a way to save states.
In case of MAME, only MAME 2003 allows to save states
