Button Mapping issue With 2017 Shield Controller

Just like the title suggests, im having a crazy issue with the button mapping of the 2017 shield controller. Been trying for days now. Ive watched every video ive been able to find on the subject and just cant seem to get it going correctly. Itll map the Sticks and triggers and everything right but as far as the XY/AB buttons it reverses both... When I go into Diagnostics in the application itself its registering the correct actions across the controller... Any pointers? Im at work currently away from my shield but i can be avalible after 6pm EST...

What you see is the default mapping, you can change the mapping in the same screen.

Steps In Settings -> Gamepads -> Gampead 1:

1) Press any button in your controller to start testing
2) Press the buttons until you find one that is wrong
3) Using the dpad highlight the wrong button
4) Press the right button in your controller
5) Repeat step 2 until all buttons are right.
6) Move to SAVE and press any button.

In any case, the onscreen instructions will guide through those steps.

I'll be getting my shield this weekend so will give it a go. Hopefully the buttons will map better than the fire TV controller.

I'm having issues with my 2017 shield controller - I can't map l2 and r2 - they don't register in the key mapping screen?

Don't worry, they don't map in the shield. The emulators have their own way to detect those buttons
