iCade

Postby harvwallbanger » Mon Sep 25, 2017 10:25 pm

Anyone have any success sing the ION ICADE with RetroX?

When I go to configure the controller, it recognizes the iCade, but when I try any of the buttons of the joystick, nothing happens.

Are you setting it up in Settings -> Gamepads?

If so, after you map the buttons, do they light up on the gamepad screen when pressed?

And last, after you save the changes and enter the option again, do they still light up?

No they don't light up at all, either before nor after I save it.

Try this:

Use the DPAD to highlight one of the buttons on the screen. Then press the highlighted button in your controller. If it lights up, continue with the other buttons.

After I map all the buttons and save it, none of them work in any game, be it mame, nes, snes, etc. The joystick doesn't work either.

Can you record a small video? May be there is something we are missing here

The iCade is really a keyboard device. Not a true gamepad device.

That would explain it. Android and RetroX expect to have at least directional buttons (dpad), may be the iCade is sending keystrokes instead.

I have managed to run the iCade in retroX with the gameKeyboard program, with which you can emulate a gamepad with a keyboard, but as soon as I enter a game, it no longer works... It's the furthest I've gotten so far.... I hope the iCade can be used with retroX at some point.
