Geordie wrote:Can i ask if you managed to get retrox to read all the mame games ok as i have a GPD q9 and i cant seem to get the games to register,

there in the correct folder as far as i can see retrox/mame/2014 although they are on a 64gb sd card.

thanks in advance

My retrox is registered. I put the roms in the folder 2014, when the roms does not work, it does not change folder. I go in the retrox options and place another version of Mame.

Thanks for taking the time to write this review...I was kinda on the fence about buying RetroX for my nvidia shield, but I also have a GPD-XD so once I saw this and realized it could be set up on the XD, that sealed the deal! I'm guessing it is gonna work real well on the shield (Truly the king of Android Boxes!) but it will also be fun to play it on my GPD-XD. I haven't even fired the poor GPD up in months, so it will finally get some retro-Love! I'm gonna put together a smaller set of roms for the GPD, just my favorites for now. So have you had a chance to try mame on it? Which mame romset do you use? Thanks!

Hi Psxfan,
It is possible to choose between 4 different versions of MAME.
Choose Mame game, see the 3 dots as shown on the following screenshot, tap that.

Next tap on Configure this game.

Tap on where it tells you which version of MAME, then this final screenshot will appear for you to select.

Try each version of MAME until that game boots up correctly.
Once you find the correct version, RetroX will remember that for next time you select that game.

Hope that helps.

Paul.

I was working on the Hardware Guide yesterday.
It would be great if you can perform in your GPD the same tests that I did in mine. For PSP use this setting: Auto Frameskip Enabled, Frameskip 9

The test results are at the bottom:

You can use any folder if you are ussing the "add folder for one system" option.

As for mame, not all files are games or working games. You always will see less than the total of files scanned.
