It quickly tries to download an emulator update and then takes me back to the game launch screen. It does it every time for both systems.

I have had this issue with psx before. A reboot of the system fixes it Everytime for me.

I have restarted my shield. I tried clearing the retrox cache. Nothing helps, every time I go to launch a game it shows me the controller screen, then when I push a button it tries to update something in the background, then dumps me back to the game screen. This is really frustrating

If you press a button that is associated with "back" it will close the gamped info screen and return you to RetroX.
Try another button

Ok I will try. PlayStation fixed itself or maybe the new update helped, I am not sure. But when I tried N64 last night (before reading your suggestion) it was still broken. It seems to me the emulator is at issue but I don’t know how to tinker with it. Anyway, I’ll see if your suggestions help.

Love the new update by the way. Looks great. Hoping to see GameCube added soon. Then my dreams will be realized!
