I would recommend a folder layout like:

system/boxart/game.png (Boxart)
system/snap/game.png (Snapshots of game play)
system/wheel/game.png (Game logos)
system/marquee/game.png (Exclusively for arcade games)
system/cart/game.png (The image of the cartridge or CD/DVD)
system/videos/game.mp4 (Video preview)
system/game.zip (Rom/ISO location)

Image support should be png, svg, jpg, jpeg
Video support would be mp4

Why that layout? (I'm open to ideas)

It would be easier to manage files this way in my opinion.

Is that format compatible with other frontends? It would be great if so

Maybe, make Retrox compatible with gamelist.xml for Retropie or Recalbox

I have all my collection of my favorite roms in my Google Drive, almost 128Gb of selected no-intro (consoles) and TOSEC (computer) roms for sync my Nespicase+ with Recalbox and mi PC with a similar system based on several emulators with Maximus Arcade as frontend.

It would be fantastic if RetroX could read gamelist.xml files populated from using SkraperUI software witch use screenscraper.fr database (for Retropie, Recalbox, Batocera, etc.), to create a game name, description gamelist.xml file and get images (composing screenshot, logo and box).

Can you send me one of those XML files to take a look at it?
