[Feature Request] Retroid Pocket 2 Cores

Postby Djrodtc » Sat Sep 26, 2020 4:34 pm

Hi, loving the front end, really top notch quality!

I’m using it in my RP2 and there’s some issues, the RP2 perform worse in Retrox than it does in the bundled retroarch in games like SNES Yoshi’s Story and GBA Mario Kart, is there a possibility we can have different retrox core downloaded for the RP2 so it can perform as it does with the bundled emulators?

Thanks!

It depends.. if the bundled emulators are Standalone emulators, I'm stopping using them for their complexity on maintaining them working with time, I'm switching to RetroArch cores from some time ago. If the emulator that works good for you is a retroarch core, you can select them in the game options menu in RetroX. Now, not all cores are available, but I can add the one that you need.

For GBA and SNES , we are talking Retroarch cores yes.

SNES: Retroarch 1.8.4 with Snes9x core 2002 7.2.0

GBA: Retroarch 1.5 with gpSP core v0.91 3f2f57c

Thanks!!!!

I'd also love this. The RP2 is my new go to device. The UI mode "TV with Themes" also looks amazing on the 4:3 screen (though the game count text in the bottom left overlaps with other text and would be awesome if anyone knows a way to disable that text)

In the meantime, for what its worth here are the recommended cores for the RP2 per their wiki (source: https://wiki.retroidhandhelds.com/index ... =Emulators):

RetroArch 1.5.0

Game Boy Advance (gpSP) This is installed separately because RA 1.5.0 has the best performance for gpSP/GBA

RetroArch 1.8.4
