REQUEST video preview for games
One suggestion I have, would be to be able to add a video of the game, this video would be displayed instead of screenshot0 and could have the formats mp4, avi etc

This is about to be seen and tested. Remember that Android devices doesn't have all the resources that a desktop operating system has. Memory and storage is limited.

Maybe a youtube gameplay preview? because retrox works if you have connection, maybe some youtube previews only if you are using wifi.
Re: REQUEST video preview for games
There are some problems with that approach:
1) The switching between games would be too slow
2) YouTube forbids to embed their videos in other apps

Re: REQUEST video preview for games
Maybe we could piggy back onto how Android Hyperspin does it.
Hyperspin on the shield works quite well with video previews.

Re: REQUEST video preview for games
What is the source of the videos in Hyperspin?
The main issue of providing videos is who provides them. I watched a stream of the Launchbox developer and he talked about reaching an agreement with some third party providers of videos (and metadata) and they were requesting upfront payments for that. From my side, I wouldn't able to provide them because of the bandwith costs.
So, it would be interesting to know how Hyperspin resolves this.

Re: REQUEST video preview for games
Any alternative will work i think maybe gifs img.
Re: REQUEST video preview for games
That would actually be great (for me anyway) just a 3 screen loop gif - Title screen, then two gameplay examples. Would be easy to setup and exported at a low res should make it quick enough cycling between games.
Leave it with me guys, I'll sort them all out and do them all up some weekend!
*I'm not actually joking its something I probably would sit down and do if needed haha

Re: REQUEST video preview for games
There are currently three shots for many games, so I would only need to cycle then. May be for the "retropie" style theme it would be a good option

Re: REQUEST video preview for games
Hyperspin uses EmuMovies for thier videos. which is a seperate site users can subscribe too. Maybe exisitng users can use ther credentials or just download the video packs and store them locally like hyperspin does.
