are there any plans for https? I am thinking about buying a lincense, but I have some concerns about submitting unencrypted credentials via internet.

No plans for now.
Licenses are paid via Amazon and they provide their own security. The email that you send before buying is for us to keep track of your purchase in case the user lose the activation code (it has happened), and for sending a copy of the activation code once created.
