GBA Emulator on Amazon Fire TV Stick Very Slow

Postby jrusso4587 » Tue Dec 05, 2017 5:04 am

Hi all,
When playing some games (mostly ones with 3-D elements) on the Amazon Fire TV Stick which I recently purchased , they run much slower than I would expect, even on a low powered device like this. When I load up the same roms in My Boy, they run fine.

Is there something I can do to speed up GBA games through some kind of configuration setting or changing the shader. I have run out of ideas.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

GBA should run fine in most devices. I don't have a Fire Stick to test, but I can ask some people to see if they have the same problem or not

Hi, I have a Fire TV HD Stick and also noticed problems with the gba emulator on RetroX, specifically on Metroid Zero Mission the audio sounds choppy and the gameplay is not working at full speed, it is somehow playable but not consistent.I Tried My Boy emulator and all games I played work pretty good so it can be confirmed the amazon fire tv stick can handle gba pretty well.

Any updates on gameboy advance running on Fire HD Stick? I updated to the latest retrox apk and it is still having problems specially with the sound.

Can you try that device with the current standalone RetroArch + GBA core?
May be I just need to update the GBA core to fix it

I noticed that retrox gba emulation wasn't on a par with say, myoldboy or other standalone emulators. I'll test retroarch core soon.

RetroX uses RetroArch for GBA, so we depend on that one's performance.
