Not sure why but for some reason it doesn't seem to handle firing the weapon in Starbase Assault. Every now and then the game freezes until the trigger is pressed again. This does not happen in Colleen. Also the diagonals don't always seem to work.
I will attach a copy of the game if you want to take a look. Turn on Basic.

Just before I test it.
Did you try switching between PAL/NTSC? Code can expose bugs when timings are different.
