Xbox One Controller button map issue with MAME

Trying to get MAME going. Have Bluetooth connected Xbox One controller paired with my phone. It works in RetroX menus great. The Controller 1 is set fine with the Xbox One controller. Games load fine. Start a MAME game and the Select button is mapped to coin by default and the start button is mapped to player 1 start. Pressing the select/coin button to add a coin and the RetroX Options box pops up. How to fix this or remap the coin button? I tried to get into the normal MAME options menu but the controller, touch or keyboard will not move the selection bar around the MAME options. Help??
