NAS openmediavault connection issue
I've been having trouble getting the NAS feature to work so I followed the guide to create an openmediavault server. I didn't have extra hardware so I created it in a vmware virtual machine. I can access my share on a separate windows computer by going to \\openmediavault\RetroXGames\NES using guest login. It also shows up in net view, but I can't see it in RetroX. Tried on two separate devices, both hooked up to my home network in the 192.168.1.x range. RetroX shows no entries and displays "Go to parent folder". Any idea what's wrong here?
Re: NAS openmediavault connection issue
I would check:
a) The network device must be in bridged mode (it seems to be).
b) SMB1/ CIFS must be enabled in openmediavault
c) Try always with "guest only" shares first
If it still not working, post the screenshots of your configuration

Re: NAS openmediavault connection issue
I checked your recommendations and wasn't having any luck so I installed the latest stable build OpenMediaVault 2.1 on an old laptop, I can access my share from windows but still can't from either of my android devices on wifi. Here's some screenshots of my config:

I see that you have "guest allowed", try with "guests only" please

Re: NAS openmediavault connection issue
I made the change and rebooted just for good measure, retrox still unable to see the openmediavault share. As a test I downloaded the android app 'Network Browser' and it was able to see the network share and navigate to the NES folder with guest credentials.
Re: NAS openmediavault connection issue
Well, we don't know which protocol is that other app using. Network shares use a microsoft protocol that has several versions and I only support one, the one that is supposed to be the most used / standard.
What I can do is to prepare a diagnostics tool for this issue, there are several people that have trouble connecting to NAS devices.
