Mame & Xbox 360 Controller Buttons

Hi there,

Loving this app - it makes playing Mame on the ShieldTV so easy.

A quick question, when playing Mame there's a Mame function that is mapped to button 10 on the right stick of the Xbox 360 controller.

This function seems to reset the Mame rom, making the rom start from scratch.

As you can imagine playing with kids, who accidentally press this reset button, is causing a few arguments in the house

I can see how I can remap this button to, say the right bumper button (button 6) but is there a way to completely disable it completely?

I'm happy to edit text/cfg files but just need a point in the right direction.

Which MAME version are you using? I think that 2001 has that button disabled

2014 as i grabbed the rom pack from retromania.

I did read your post somewhere that an earlier version works a bit better but I struggled to find a good rom pack.

Any chance you could point me in the right direction?

If I look in the GAMES (aka ROMS) & ARTWORK sub forum I can only see 2014 roms.

The forum also will not allow me to search for "mame" because the word is too common

I'm thinking that remapping buttons might be the answer.

- swap the functions of buttons 7 & 10 and 8 & 9. This would then move the reset buttons off the left and right stick buttons that the kids always seem to press to a less "pressable" location.

I'd still prefer an earlier rom set though, be honest, as I don't need such a large collection and much prefer the classic games. Also, 2 of my fav games - donkey kong and donkey kong jr - aren't playing on mame 2014

Those games are working with MAME 2001. Look for MAME 0.37b in Google. I cannot provide links
