Mame

Postby Geordie » Mon May 15, 2017 7:43 pm

Hi just installed retrox on a gpd q9 and everything installed fine,

ive tried toi install the mame roms in a folder on my sd card under retrox/mame/2014 but when i try to scan the folder to add games it says there are none? and even trying to add just 1 game it says folder is empty, but when you look into folder the games are all there.

im quite coputer savvy and followed instructions and read guides etc, have i missed something or have people had this problem before,

my machine advises i turn off es file explorer which i do but still cant add folder, same happens with final burn alpha folder, i managed to install 1 dreamcast game following instructions but for some reason these folders seem empty?

thanks in advance

Use the "add one game" option, navigate to your folder and send us a screenshot of what you see there

(Make sure to not only close ES Explorer, but unmount any drive that it may be using)

Try just one.

Reasons why RetroX can say that no files were found

1) There are no files
2) The folder cannot be read (es explorer taking it, corrupt filesystem, etc)
3) There are files, but not one is in the expected format (one zip for each ROM file)

wouldnt recognise my sd card because it was formatted in Exfat , once i formatted it to Fat32 it was all cool. its seen games ok now :)

but when i select one to play it shows a picture of a joystick and then tries to load game but doesnt and goes back to games screen, do i need to enable something else?

it downloaded a retroarch file and then wont load game, final burn alpha games it seems

thank you in advance

im thinking it could be a faulty microsd card now as im trying to open files and there coming back damaged

As for your last message I would try another card.

Also, when the dumps are from a specific MAME version and you are using a different MAME version the emulator will crash and you will see the options menu. If that is the case, you can select the MAME version in the game details screen.
