atari800

Postby GmoAndres » Tue Apr 25, 2017 1:21 pm

Hi!
Congrats for the project,
i register because yesterday i see a video about "retroboxtv" and looking for info, find this page
Normally i use recalbox (RASPBERRY PI3), love it!! but sadly, Recalbox not includes ATARI800 ...and Retropie provides the option of add emulators but seems difficult to me
So, i ask, Retrox includes ATARI 800 by default???
Is easy to use for non experts, like Recalbox??

i am fom Santiago (Chile), there is no spanish forum ? jaaj

Saludos!

Atari 800 (XL/XE/5200) is supported through the Atari emulator.

It was one of the first ones to be supported, I started programming with the Atari 800XL :-) Even we put Montezuma in our promo video.

RetroX is intended to be easy to setup, if you did setup Recalbox then RetroX should be a piece of cake.

The PS3 controller can be a problem. Those are NON standard Bluetooth controllers, and the device must send special commands to pair it, which most probably are sent from Linux on the RPi, but they will not be sent from Android.

Hi!
Thanks for your reply
Ok ,not dualshock, so what "playstation/snes style" bluetooth control you recommend ?
Works fine with the internal bluetooth of Raspberry PI or you need a Bluetooth device ?? (Recalbox still need a BT device)

i only want to play draconus, zybex, montezuma, archon, twilight world, goonies and boulder dash again

The iPega 9025 and Xiaomi Gamepad are my favorite but there are cheaper and easier to get alternatives: Get a wireless USB Playstation 2 pad with a PS2 to USB connector. You can get that for around (USD$15 / CLP$10.000).

Some people have reported issues with Frambu and Bluetooth, so I cannot guarantee that it will work. It did on my test but there are some reports of problems with that.

Thanks again

Ok, i try with Retrox, buying the total version for Raspberry pi3,
my idea is to have 2 MicroSd: one for Recalbox and other for Retrox (there is no problem? change it like we done in the past with cartrigdes?? ...sorry if that question is so obvious...or another raspberry would be neccesary??)

The control that you mencioned looks good, i try with the ipega9025, seems fine, (cosa de costumbre nomas) , Thanks

You can use one RPi and two SD cards. God bless that design :-)

You will like the iPega one, and it also works with mobile phones

Es re buena la cuestión ;-)

Not right. The uncompressed file is called frambu-1.1.img.

May be the uncompression software is doing something else with the name. Try renaming it and burn it into the SD
